Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Office Coordinator for the Office of Internal Audits. Under administrative direction, this position will perform paraprofessional or technical secretarial and office support functions; paraprofessional or technical work is coordinative in nature and involves the application of advanced technical knowledge of a major software application program and/or a combination of high-level clerical and low-level professional work. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and interested in playing a supportive role in the agency’s operations.  DCFS offers a competitive compensation plan, excellent benefits, and a pension program. Essential Functions

  • Serves as Secretary
  • Prepares and keyboards a variety of confidential documents for Office of Internal Audits staff
  • Serves as timekeeper
  • Schedules meetings for the Chief Internal Auditor and staff with senior leadership and management of the agency
  • Tracks time spent by staff on each assigned audit
  • Makes recommendations for changes to the Office of Internal Audits Policies and Procedures Manual and implements official policy changes within area of oversight
  • Arranges and submits business itineraries
  • Receives and assists visitors and telephone callers and refers them appropriately
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college OR completion of high school and two years of related office experience OR two years of independent business experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.
