Sertoma Club of Springfield Gives Illinois Symphony Orchestra Funds for Sound Shields
The Sertoma Club of Springfield Illinois presented the Illinois Symphony Orchestra (ISO) with a donation of $3,000 to purchase sound shields to preserve ISO performers' hearing. Symphonic music is characterized by a wide frequency content and highly variable sound levels including high peak levels. In many situations, the sound levels pose a hearing risk for musicians.
