Mayor Misty Buscher and Chief Joseph Behl proudly announced the promotion of two Springfield Police Department officers during a ceremony held Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Springfield City Council Chambers. Officers Bob Kuhn and Brittany Etchill were promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
Sergeant Bob Kuhn has served the Springfield Police Department for 19 years, dedicating his career to the Patrol Division. His commitment to public safety and consistent professionalism have earned him the respect of his peers and the community.
Sergeant Brittany Etchill has served with the Springfield Police Department for 24 years. Throughout her tenure, she has worked in numerous roles, including Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Boat Patrol, Evidence Officer, Towing Officer, and as a member of the Mobile Field Force Team. Sergeant Etchill has also served on the Crisis Intervention Team since 2011 and the Honor Guard since 2013. In addition to her operational roles, she is certified as both a Less Lethal Instructor and a Firearms Instructor.
The Springfield Police Department congratulates Sergeant Kuhn and Sergeant Etchill on their well-deserved promotions and thanks them for their continued service and leadership within the community.
