Job Title: Controller
Location: Central Illinois
Compensation: $85,000 – $110,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Schedule: Full-time | On-site with flexibility

A well-established and growing privately held holding company in Central Illinois is seeking a Controller to lead and elevate its accounting function. This role oversees financial operations across multiple operating entities in the construction and specialty services space.

• Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Coordinate with external CPA firm on tax filings and year-end audits/reviews
• Develop and improve internal controls and accounting processes
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff
• Partner with ownership and operational leadership on financial strategy
• Manage banking relationships and financing activities
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry regulations

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred but not required)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior experience in construction, job costing, or multi-entity environments strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
