Description

What can we learn from the lessons of the Holocaust and genocide that took place in the past?  What do genocide scholars say about allegations of genocide today?  What is the difference between genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity? Ambassador O'Donnell will share his experiences working on these issues and will discuss Russia's management of the war in Ukraine and IDF military strategy in Gaza.  Ambassador O’Donnell's distinguished Foreign Service career included positions in German-speaking Europe, Latin America and Afghanistan.  He served as the U.S. Ambassador and Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues from 2003 to 2006.
