Description
Firefighters Postal Lake Club will host our August Chamber on Tap. The Firefighters Postal Lake Club began in 1948 as the Lake Springfield Postal Club, built by postal workers who volunteered over 50,000 hours to complete the original clubhouse. Over time, membership expanded to include skilled tradespeople. In 2000, declining membership led to a merger with Firefighters Local #37, forming the Firefighters Postal Lake Club. The original building was used for fire training and burned in 2001, and a new volunteer-built facility was completed in 2002 at a cost of $3.6 million.
